Statement: Suspending Activities in Aleppo Western Countryside

For the safety of the organization’s teams and partners, and given the impossibility of carrying out any activity since the middle of last January, Kesh Malek Organization declares the suspension of all its activities in “Urem Al-kubra” and “Kafarnaha” towns in Aleppo western countryside until further notice.

The suspension comes as a result of the continued violent escalation since the beginning of the military campaign that the Syrian regime and its Russian and Iranian allies launched on the sixteenth of last January, targeting the villages and towns of the western and southern countryside of Aleppo.

Most of Kesh Malek team members and their families in these two towns were forced to leave their homes, like hundreds of thousands of civilians in Aleppo countryside and Idlib in the past weeks, , looking for a safe shelter in areas close the Turkish borders. It is estimated that the countryside of Aleppo alone has witnessed the displacement of more than 130 thousand civilians, in addition to tens of martyrs and wounded civilians, since the middle of last month.

This escalation is part of the intensive military operation launched by the Syrian regime and its allies since last year against Northwest Syria, targeting residential neighborhoods, as well as hospitals, schools, civil defense centers and vital humanitarian facilities, using a systematic destruction strategy which has caused an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe in these areas.

Kesh Malek Organization calls the international community and the United Nations to stand up to their responsibilities to provide protection for civilians in Syria and end their tragedy, and to stop military actions and huge violations of human rights principles and international laws practiced by the Syrian regime and its allies without deterrence.

Mercy for the martyrs, recovery for the wounded, and victory for our just cause.

Kesh Malek Organization
